The DC Inverter Air Plasma Cutter is an electric welding machine equipment that uses inverter technology for metal cutting. Its working principle is to utilize IGBT tubes to convert the 50/60Hz industrial frequency into high frequency, then reduce the voltage and adjust the current. At the same time, it adopts pulse bandwidth regulation control technology (PWM) to generate a powerful power supply for cutting. Compressed air is used as the working gas. Under the action of the electric arc, it is ionized to form a high-temperature and high-energy-density plasma arc. This plasma arc quickly melts and evaporates the metal, thereby achieving cutting.
Different current sizes result in different cutting thicknesses. For example, the regular CUT-40 has a rated current of 10-40A, which can cut carbon steel with a thickness of 12mm. The CUT-60 has a rated current of 10-60A, and its cutting thickness is around 20mm. In our factory, for plasma cutting machines, the maximum current can reach 160A. For a cutting machine with such a large current of 160A, its maximum capacity can cut carbon steel with a thickness of 30mm.
First, clearly define the cutting requirements. Then, match the power/current, load duration rate, arc and gas system, consumable lifespan, etc. If portability is considered and for outdoor use, choose a model with a small size and a handle, preferably with an in-built air pump. If it is for a workshop or industrial use, you can select a 380V three-phase model with a high load rate (>60%) and support for multiple gases (air/oxygen/nitrogen).
